6pdr Anti Tank Gun

I've been painting up a 6pdr AT Gun for my Konfikt 47 force.
I found this in the lead pile (I had completely forgotten that I had it!!)
I think it could be from Battle Honors Miniatures but I'm not sure,
as I bought it second hand & the Battle Honors website doesn't have very many pictures!

TURNS OUT IT'S FROM BLACK TREE DESIGN, IT DIDN'T EVEN CROSS MY MIND AS I DID NOT THINK THAT THEY MADE ONE (WHO KNEW!)

I have used the same method as previous posts for making & painting the wrinkly tin (using fizzy drink cans & a homemade press)

Hope you all like it
Cheers

Scouts Done (mostly!)

Finally got the Scouts done, barring the bases.
I might end up adding some shield designs & maybe some clothing patterns, but for now they will do till i get a full 6 points painted.

Newline Designs Pict Cavalry

I've been looking around for some Pict Cavalry & finally decided on the
Newline Designs Miniatures 9 pack for £15 in the sale.
There are 3 lots of 3 different designs of rider & horse in the set
(in my set I got 4 of one type, shame it was the walking horse)

The above picture shows the 3 riders next to figures from Curteys
(my personal favourite Pict miniatures) on the left,
Black Tree Design & finally on the far left Gripping Beast.

Newline Horses with gripping beast horses, the bases are from Sally 4th

Size wise they fit well with the other manufacturers, the flash on the figures was minimal, on the horses there was a lot more with some casting holes under the horses belly, which was easily fixed with some green stuff. The sculpting is good, a little soft in places, better than i could ever do 😂

Above with a Gripping Beast & a Black Tree Figure

Overall I am very happy with these figures, especially for the price & would buy more figures from Newline, they should paint up well.
I would like to have seen some more variation in the figures with a helmeted head.
I have got some West Wind Pict Helmeted heads from Rumacara over on LAF to add to 5 of the riders.

Scouts Update

Im still working on the scouts. All the flesh & the clothing is finished.

Ive been using the foundry paint system, with extra transitions as some of the contrasts are a bit stark to say the least.
Ive used Moss, Rawhide, Quagmire, British Blanco & Webbing (the last two were from the now defunct WW2 range)

Some Scouts

While I've been working away, i have been making a unit of Scouts/Guides for my Pict/Scotti Saga Warband

The figures are from Black Tree Design, with cloaks & hoods made from Green-stuff.
Ive only done 7 as i already have a gripping beast figure that i will use with these.
Cheers

Picts are still on their way!

Well the Picts/Scotti are still on their way, Slowly but surely!

These lot are still works in progress as they need basing & more importantly some sort of uniform shield colouring, which I'm finding quite difficult to come up with, I found it simple with the Vikings.

Naked Picts, finished mostly, maybe?

Well I've finished the Naked Picts, mostly, just need to decide exactly what I'm dong with the bases.
I might also put some red tattoos/War paint on them as well. I'm still undecided about this, but they will do for now anyway.

Side tracked!!

Well I seem to have got a bit side tracked from painting the Winter War Finns!
Since the last post & the promise of an update to the painting guide I've not even looked at them!!
Instead I have been painting some other bits & peices for Saga & For the Home Guard.

First of all for Saga I have done a Baggage Marker using some Gripping Beast Pigs & a Black Tree peasant on a base done by James at Oshiro Model Terrain (more of these later)

In fact if I remember correctly I got the pigs of James over on LAF too!

Any way they are painted with Valejo Red Leather, Orange Brown & some of the Rust colours from the Panzer Aces range.

I've also painted a Victorian Warehouse From Oshiro Model Terrain. Which is a fantastic little kit that comes pre-undercoated flat packed with seperate doors & windows, a floor, roof Girders & a sheet of card with the roof tiles pre-cut.

Any way on to the pictures, I've put a foundry Home Guard Figure for scal on the first picture

I've used various manufacturers paints on this, I started with a cream colour to paint the mortar then sponged various shades a Brown/Red Brown over this for the brickwork followed by a wash of a slightly paler cream with i carefully wiped back off with a damp paper towel. The roof is just sponged & drybrushed with various greys then washed in Brown & green.

Finally here's a Dum Dum Dugan to go with the Cap figure.
I painted this a while ago but haven't got round to photographing it till now

I don't know when I will get back to the Finns as I have a Empire of the Dead Commision to paint & I've started a truck for the Home Guard  that I want to Finish
